NYC Women of Vision is hosting a jewelry party with Women At Risk, International. November 3rd at 6:30 pm. This event will be a unique opportunity to learn more about human trafficking and make an impact in fighting this cause.
According to the Salvation Army, estimates range from a low of 700,000 to a high of 4 million people that are trafficked annually worldwide. Over half of these are children and 70% of the women are sold into sexual slavery.
Women At Risk, International is a non-profit organization working in over 30 countries to rescue women and children from sexual exploitation as well as a number of other risk issues they face. WAR, Int’l carries a variety of products made by vulnerable women who work hard to live and support themselves with dignity.
Income generated through the sale of WAR, Int’l’s jewelry supports such projects as: safe houses rescuing women from human traffickers, a Women’s Training Center on the Burma/China border, and educational scholarships for girl orphans in Burma and Bangladesh.
Thank you for joining us in creating a circle of protection around women at risk in the name of Christ. Pray for the rescued women and children, and for the trafficking to end.
