Women of Vision, along with 12 other leading organizations focused on empowering girls and women across the world, was invited to attend an exclusive preview screening of the groundbreaking documentary Half the Sky. Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide, is a special television event that uses in-the-moment investigations and emotionally explosive storytelling to confront the greatest moral challenge of our time: the oppression of women and girls around the world.

After the screening, over 100 guests were then introduced to frontline leaders of non-profit organizations that are working alongside women and girls to overcome the obstacles facing girls and women: Jimmie BriggsFounder and Executive Director, the Man Up Campaign; Fay SardjonoDirector of External Affairs, Restore New York; Ruchira GuptaFounder and Executive Director, Apne Aap ; and Meryem Aslan: Chief, UN Trust Fund to End Violence Against Women – UN WOMEN.

After the panel discussion, guests were invited to learn how to join the Half the Sky movement from a variety of organizations, including Women of Vision. It was such a blessing to share Women of Vision's mission to women whose hearts were on fire to improve the lives of girls and women. It was a great way to kick-off a new year of Women of Vision NYC!
